What makes Napoleon Dynamite's soundtrack extra special? John Swihart.

John Swihart is Napoleon Dynamite's composer. He was able to create such an amazing and timeless soundtrack because he used Napoleon's cassette tapes as inspiration.

"I started with Napoleon's mixtapes as my template," says Swihart in an interview with AV Club. "I wanted the movie to have this feeling that Napoleon had made the soundtrack himself." And that's exactly what he did. He created a soundtrack that feels like it was made by Napoleon himself. It's quirky, eclectic, and perfect for the cult classic film.
